Checkout Procedures
Turn off the water power switch. It is a toggle switch located inside the Laundry room closet on the right side. This will turn off water and the water heater. Down is off!
Turn off water valve at each toilet.
Turn off inside stair lights - switch is in the foyer closet.
Assure all switches at range/ovens are off. Make sure light buttons and convention buttons are off. Turn off Hood fan and light.
AV Systems off.
Perishables removed.
Trash removed - no trash service so take it with you.
Turn off ice maker.
Damper at fireplace closed (no fires please)
Outside ceiling fans off
Grilling light off (switch behind curtain at Veranda door)
Inside ceiling fans off
Check to make sure no toilets are running
Windows closed and locked.
Sheets washed and beds made.
Towels washed.
Washer dryer off - do not leave with them still running. Leave washer door open, and remove soap tray and place in sink.
Clean, clean, clean. Clean it and leave it as it was when you arrived.
Check oven for any left over food or spillage.
Make sure boat is covered, battery switch off, key removed, boat lift in up position, ropes on each side tied to boat and dock, and lift control turned all the way closed. Also, lift dock ladder and use strap to secure to dock.
All lights off. There is a “House Off”button at the Mudroom door keypad that will turn all lights off that are connected to the Lutron/keypad system. Toggle switches must be turned off manually. There is also an “Away”button at this same keypad- do not turn this on, but if you do there is no harm. The away button randomly turns on and off lights to simulate activity in the House.
All exterior doors are locked. Check all the back doors - turn the thumb turn first, then lift the lever handle until the locks engage. You will know that the locks are secure when you cannot push the lever handle down. Check the two basement exterior doors. Lock the front door - this is a bit sticky, but hang in there, you will get it. Check the bonus room over the garage - both side porch and entry doors. Lastly, check the Mudroom door is locked when you leave, and the garage door is locked. Simply press the “Schlage” button to lock the Mudroom, Garage door, and Bonus Entry doors.
Double check that the basement outside doors are locked. And lights are off.
Close the garage doors.
